Zhuzhou Conducts Mid-Autumn Food Inspection; 50 Seasonal Batches Pass

The Zhuzhou Food and Drug Inspection Institute conducted a Mid-Autumn seasonal food inspection under the Zhuzhou 2026 food safety supervision plan; 50 batches, including Cantonese and Suzhou-style mooncakes, all passed.

According to a Foodmate News (media) report, the Zhuzhou Food and Drug Inspection Institute, in accordance with the Zhuzhou 2026 Food Safety Supervision and Sampling Inspection Plan, organized a special sampling inspection of Mid-Autumn seasonal foods. The inspection covered Zhuzhou city and was a supervisory sampling action for holiday food safety.

A total of 50 batches of seasonal foods were sampled, including best-selling products such as Cantonese-style mooncakes, Suzhou-style mooncakes and old-style flaky-pastry mooncakes. This batch and product information comes from media reporting; the original regulatory notice has not been seen.

Test items included food additive indicators such as sorbic acid and its potassium salt, benzoic acid and its sodium salt, dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt, and sodium saccharin; oil quality indicators such as acid value and peroxide value; and aluminum residue plus microbiological indicators including total bacterial count, coliforms, mold and Staphylococcus aureus.

The report stated that all 50 batches of seasonal foods sampled in this special inspection passed, meaning no item failing to meet the corresponding test requirements was found within the scope of sampling. This conclusion applies only to the 50 batches sampled and does not represent an overall assessment of the same brands or other batches.

As of the time of the case file, no regulatory disposal measures, company responses or recalls of non-compliant products related to this inspection were recorded, and no conflicting statements between sources were found.

Consumers seeking the full batch and test data from this inspection may refer to subsequent sampling information published by regulators; those with questions about specific products may consult the seller or regulators using the product label and purchase receipt.
