Four National Standards for Health Food Ingredients Open for Drafting Units and Samples
Four national standards including Health Food Ingredients Whey Protein are open for drafting working group members and samples, organized under SAC/TC 466, with feedback due by November 1, 2026.
According to a public notice carried by Foodmate News, four national standards—Health Food Ingredients Whey Protein, Health Food Ingredients DHA Algal Oil, Health Food Ingredients Soy Protein Isolate and Health Food Ingredients Lycopene—have been included in the development plan, and working group members and related samples for these four standards are now being widely solicited from the industry. The four standards are administered by the National Technical Committee on Special Food of Standardization Administration (SAC/TC 466), with the National Center for Food Safety Inspection and Testing (National Center for Application of Food Safety Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) leading the drafting, under the plan notice Guobiaoweifa [2026] No. 10.
Units intending to participate are required to fill in the "Standard Drafting Unit Application Form" (see Annex 1) and provide related samples as required (see Annex 2). The listed annexes are: 1. Standard Drafting Unit Application Form.docx; 2. Sample Solicitation Requirements.docx. The notice states that the above materials and samples should be fed back by November 1, 2026; the contact is Li Gaolin, telephone 13356282061; email [email protected], copied to [email protected].
The solicitation covers working group members and samples for standards still under development. The notice itself does not publish any test values, standard limits, inspection conclusions or enforcement penalties, so the indicator requirements, scope of application and subsequent technical content of these four standards remain to be clarified in the standard-setting process. This is an early public solicitation stage of a national standard development plan, not a compliance determination for any specific product, batch or company.
The mailing address stated in the notice is: National Center for Food Safety Inspection and Testing, No. 8 Sanlihe East Road, Xicheng District, Beijing. The notice is issued by the National Center for Food Safety Inspection and Testing (National Center for Application of Food Safety Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). The notice contains no company response, product withdrawal or recall information.
Industry units and consumers following health food ingredient standards may track the drafting progress and subsequent public comment announcements for these four standards; participation and sample submission should follow the public channels and the November 1, 2026 deadline stated in the notice.
