Yinchuan Regulator Runs Pre-Mid-Autumn Mooncake Inspection; 14 Batches All Pass

Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Yinchuan market regulator conducted a food safety inspection, deploying 237 enforcement visits and checking 384 sites, with 14 mooncake batches sampled and all tested items passing.

According to Foodmate News (media), the Yinchuan market regulation department focused on seasonal food safety and organized a pre-Mid-Autumn Festival inspection, targeting producers and small workshops of mooncakes and other seasonal foods.

The report said the inspection involved 237 enforcement personnel visits and 384 inspection visits, focusing on key links including raw material procurement, production process control, use of food additives, factory inspection, labeling, and storage and transport.

On sampling, the report said 14 batches of mooncakes were sampled for supervision, and all tested items passed. All these figures come from that single media report.

The report also said the regulator organized special training for food producers on prepackaged food labeling.

For consumers, the report advised buying mooncakes from regular supermarkets, stores or e-commerce platforms, checking the label for manufacturer name and address, production date, shelf life and storage conditions, and not buying products without such information; taking a rational view of "luxury packaging" and "high-price gimmicks" and practicing green consumption; and reporting food safety problems via channels such as 12315.
